BDB Dance Presents: THE FIRST ONE (Copy)

An evening of new dance works

Bosse DeBelina Dance, founded in 2024 by Ann Bosse and MC DeBelina - is a modern dance company. Ann and MC are friends, neighbors, colleagues, mothers, teachers, dancers, and creators. As soon as Ann walked into MC’s backyard, their fates were sealed. They find working together kind of like constantly finishing each other’s dance sentences.

Ann’s work in deeply connected to music and musicality. She uses her extensive training and dance experience to connect to her auditory interests in fun and innovative ways.

MC has been experimenting with improvisational creation. Using intuition and the dancers intelligence, they set movement in the moment. MC has been enjoying finding the surprises in change, mistakes, and just a touch of chaos.

This evening will in include three new works performed by BDB Dance: Control The Flow, Everything Must Change, and The Duet.

Dancers: Ann Bosse, MC DeBelina, Tai Nixa Peterson, Chloe Schafer, and Eli Francis

BDB Dance is thrilled to invite the DANCE AND Performance Workshop to dance alongside them in this inaugural show. The Performance Workshop is a new creation: an adult summer dance group working with three choreographers, making three new pieces.

Choreographers: Willow Wonder, Ann Bosse, and Chloe Schafer

Dancers: Tai Nixa Peterson, Eli Francis, Andrea Melville, Ingrid Nielsen, Susannah Noel, Willow Wonder, Candace Fugazy

Holding Strong Through Dance - A Movement of Resistance

What: We will never stop dancing.

Who: Movers of all ages—dancers, artists, and community members.

Where: Locations throughout Vermont. See below for updated list or sign-up to host.

When: Sunday, April 13, 2025, at noon.

Why: We will never stop creating. The arts keep us strong and whole. Through movement, words, and creation, we shape beauty and meaning—and we refuse to be silenced.

How: We will move together through an improvised structure, allowing our bodies to speak, resist, and reclaim space. Whether through stillness, gesture, or full-bodied movement, we will embody resilience and solidarity.

Call to Action:
Join us in a statewide act of resistance! Show up, move with us, and make your voice heard. Gather in public spaces, studios, theaters, and streets—wherever you can move. Share your movement online using #HoldingStrongThroughDance to amplify our message.

Together, we will prove that the arts are essential and unstoppable.

Locations:

Burlington - Oakledge Park - south cove

Montpelier - State House Lawn

Rutland - West Rutland Town Hall

VIRTUAL - https://meet.google.com/esv-jmgz-nvf

(email to add your city to the list here to start your own movement)
